August 2007, Erickson Associates, inc. was the selected mechanical contractor for the Replacement Facility constructed at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia. The four story, 155,000 square foot, fast-tracked project was completed in only 14 months. Our scope included all HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, fuel oil, and fire protection systems for the new facility. The facility contains one patient floor, a 12 bed ICU, a surgical suite containing 4 operating rooms and 3 minor procedure rooms, 4 LDR rooms, emergency department, radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services, administration areas, and a cafeteria. Seven chilled water VAV air handling units serve the interior areas of the hospital. The central energy plant consists of the following equipment: two 460 ton variable speed air-cooled chillers, two 125hp heating hot water boilers, medical air compressor and vacuum pump, medical gas manifolds, triples domestic water booster pump, fire pump and a 25,000 gallon fuel oil system for the emergency generators.
